In times of economic stress and uncertainty, the tendency is to focus on ourselves and pull in and save for future circumstances.
In some ways it seems the parable shows irresponsible actions by the sower. Many seeds are not cast in the best areas. However, there are small changes and improvements from those seeds that seem to be wasted.
God’s reckless abandon in casting seeds is in stark contrast to our striving for control. Surprised by joy when seeds sprout in unexpected places.
God’s abundant grace and extravagant mercy. Rejoice when the harvest comes.
